This is an email in response to a payment made by a client of this particular firm. The client had paid Au$25 for a one year renewal of a .com domain name.

Not a bad profit margin for the firm I call “RIP OFF DOMAIN REGISTRATION”!

You see this particular firm is one of the resellers of “XXXXXX” domain names based in the USA. The wholesale price that XXXXXX charges resellers for .com domain names is US$10. Yeah, I know there there is an exchange rate difference between the Aussie dollar and the US dollar, but the profit margin is still well in excess of 100%.

And remember that Ian  McKenzie’s Domains RETAILS .com domain names for less than US$10 per year.

Ian McKenzie’s Domains does have reseller plans. The wholesale prices of .com domain names for Ian McKenzie’s Domains resellers are either $7.75 or $7.00, depending upon whether you are a Basic Reseller or a Professional Reseller.
 

But, the issue of price is not the man concern with “RIP OFF DOMAIN REGISTRATION”. The client had paid the renewal of the domain name registration before the expiry date of the domain name.
